Twilight the movie is not what you expect.
I have never heard of this until the movie had come out. When I first saw previews on it I was kind of skeptical since it involved a romance between a girl in her teens and a vampire. I mean, how much excitement can that bring on the big screen? Its like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” all over again. It didn’t seem like it was anything new.
Well, with all the promotion and buzz going on about it, I got suckered into watching it the first week it came out. And I have to confess, I loved it!
I immediately bought the books and read it all in two weeks. I literally ignored everyone else around me. My husband was so relieved when I told him I was almost done. He said that he can finally have conversation with me again. I would have read it all over again if it were not for classes.
I know it’s weird, right? I’m a 30-somewhat year old woman with two kids and I am totally head-over-heels crazy over these books. Ok, I admit, its Edward Cullen. The fact that the book is written in from Bella’s point of view really puts you in her place and you can relate to what is going on in her head and how she’s feeling. The romance you experience through her makes you not want to stop reading. Whether we like to admit it of not, we can be suckers for romance. And Edward Cullen can do all the sucking he wants. LOL
To this date, I’ve seen the movie in the theaters 4 times. I couldn’t convince anyone else to come with me so I’d have a reason to see it. My twelve-year old daughter calls me a twerd, I guess that’s what the teenage call the Twilight nerds. Well, it can certainly make you feel like a teenager. Its probably because of the clean romance. Reminds you of your teenage days when just seeing the person you have crush on makes your day. You didn’t have the need to do anything beyond holding hands or just being with the person to make you feel like you’ve won the lottery. Simple innocence, ahhh…
Well, after looking it up online, I came upon some forums on it. I didn’t feel so bad when I found one called, “Twilight Moms.” Its nice to know I’m not the only fanatic of this movie that is beyond the teenage years. Hey, stuff like that can make you feel young again sometimes. So why not, right?
